I say don't mess with any more than it takes to get it running. See how it is and do more if you need to. Don't touch the timing until you see how it is running!

Dump the oil and gasoline and replace with fresh. The battery may need to be replaced. I bet with very little trouble that car will start right up. You may also need to burnish the points as they can...
