If there is a leak anywhere between the tank and pump it can make a good pump seem bad
If you have a vacuum gauge see how much vacuum the pump can pull ---- if you don't have a gauge use finger over...

have you tried to adjust the antenna trimming capacitor---a little screw usually near the antenna lead, with am car radio it makes all the difference in reception

I think the tank sender opening is different between hydrostatic and electric--- I think I remember seeing an adapter plate to use the later tank with earlier sender--- but probably as simple as...

Its actually an original Ford disc, has script on the linings, I put it in used 45 years ago, there are no signs of wear around the spring pockets ---probably the "GYP" ones have thinner lower...

If the dist is lubed as the owners instruction book says the upper bushing is lubed---- take oil gun and squirt full---- most cars say just a few drops for dist lube, the A you fill it full--- one...

I had a brass float--- it cracked, sunk, now have a modern plastic float salvaged from modern car fuel pump unit--- nice round ball that fit my arm perfectly--- the brass float lasted 15 years

I put later gears in my 36 case, I just put the input shaft bearing in later ---- to take it apart I pull the bearing first--- I have a puller that catches the snap ring groove----
