Re: Painting nuts and bolts...
I use wood or plastic dowels. I use masking tape to hold bolts onto the end of the dowels and set them into a board with holes while they dry. Nuts are slipped down the dowel with a few layers of...

Re: 52 F1 Flathead
I also made a wooden cradle (with 4 casters) to move mine from the carport to my shop. I reused the wood since, so I have to make another one soon to move the block back to install in the truck. It...

Re: Installing Starter motor
Is the black part that is attached to the jack, a plastic ABS fitting.? It looks like a coupler for (4"?) ABS pipe?

Re: Somethig "squirrely " at Bubbas ???
I feel sorry for my squirrels here. I have a problem with black bears, they like to break-up my feeders and eat the squirrel food. I have to take the feeder down in April or the bears will keep...

Re: Tinnertman Nuts
I think they were only put on there on the assembly line to keep the drums from falling off until the wheels were mounted.
I agree with you, they aren't needed now.

Re: Installing Truck Oil Filter Later
The new threads at the top of the "studs" are the right length so I can tighten the nuts down and lock them at the bottom of the threads with red Loctite, they are now basically bolts. They will be...

Re: Installing Truck Oil Filter Later
19Fordy,
I checked AMK Products and 4 bolts ($32) and $25 shipping seems ok, but your idea of re-threading them got me thinking of making 4 studs from long 7/16-14 bolts.
I could cut the heads off,...

Re: Installing Truck Oil Filter Later

Re: 1949 6 volt coil
I'm not sure where I copied this info from (probably from this site):
-6 volt coils should have a resistance of 1.3 to 1.6 ohm.
-Amp draw thru the wire to coil should be 2.5 to 3 amps. Adjust the...
