8BA piston install

I know the piston pin is offset but there is no mark on the pistons to indicate which way to install. there is an oiling slot on the skirt, does it go up (intake side ) or down (exhaust side )?

Are you running a flathead V8? I was told it won't produce enough vacuum to operate the booster

1950 Meteor power brakes

As I am putting an electric fuel pump in would it be possible to use the mechanical pump and a vacuum canister to work the booster?
