The OD works in 1st, 2nd or 3rd. It is best to install a reverse lockout switch to prevent damaging the unit. You should never leave the OD engaged when backing up in reverse.

No, the "bottom line" is every state is different. NC seems like one of the more difficult places to register an antique vehicle. YMMV

In the one review of the product, the reviewer indicates the hole in the terminal is for a 6/32 stud. I don't know if that's the stud size is on the Model A points. 100 pcs. should be a lifetime...

My Laycock overdrives all function fine on 6 volts. Are you saying that you hooked a 6V battery charger up and tried it that way?
