Re: Side Water Outlet

The diamond is a genuine Ford part but cast by an outside foundry. That mark can be found on many Ford parts.

Re: Winfield Model M updraft carb

They were only used on T's. They are better than the stock T carb, but IMO a bit small for the Model A. I've run a few Winfield model S on my warmed up Model A, and really like them.

Re: The absolute 'MINIMUM' cylinder wall thickness....

All blocks are not the same! I have 2 diamond Model B blocks that differ quite a bit in the port area. One has very large intake valves and ports and they are just fine, the other has stock size...

Re: The absolute 'MINIMUM' cylinder wall thickness....

Just how many people do you think have ever measured that thickness? I think not many, less than 1%. So how do you expect to get any exact answers? People above have said that a 4" bore (.125")...

Re: Next step - brake lines...30 Tudor - Guidance?

These are undoubtedly the best lines, but may be hard to find? Use 1/4" so the lines match the wheel cylinders, and a flex line at the m/cyl. and diff. Cut-to- length steel lines are available at...

Re: '31 pickup rear fender filler panels

If yours is a late '31, it has narrower fenders and no fill panel. Late 31's have the fuel shut-off on the front side of the firewall, a dropped steering support, not attached to the gas tank, and a...

Re: tell a Model A related story

I mow with a 601 Ford tractor and tow a brand X mower. Both are old and worn out, like me, but they still work. I used to maintain our road with the tractor and a 7' blade but a neighbor does most...

Re: Model A hubs on V8 Axle?

Yes they can but the only advantage is the spring mounting. You can just make a bolt-on bracket to accomplish this.

Re: Vacuum advance dist. for Model A

Re: dist. and oil pump drive gear A , and B anyy difference

They are the same. Oil gets to the valve chamber in B's thru large holes in the floor of the chamber, it doesn't take much.

Re: Revised "Builders Guide"

I too recommend a steel crank gear. I broke a brand new cast iron gear while racing at Bonneville. An aluminum cam gear is very adequate for any street engine, I use a bronze gear for racing.

Re: Model A Marine Engine?

That is the most complete marine conversion that I have ever seen! I have no idea of its value, but the MAFFI museum may be interested in it?
