The two threaded bolt holes are for the rear view mirror stanchion some were fitted here not at the visor .

My suspicion is that the cam is not tight on the shaft . With the distributer seated and secure see if you can rotate the rotor by hand . It should not rotate only slack in the drive shaft/camshaft...

I run a suitable ruler through the steering spokes to hold the light rod down or grab a passerby to hold it down . Before I do anything I check the "C" clip fits the spider snuggly sometimes needs...

Thank you Oldgears I had read the Ursus post but now I have got it , The sharp Stanley blade tip would engage the washer but a screwdriver would slip on the surface grease . Learnt something new...

To preload or not to preload that is the question (apologies to Shakespeare) I always snug up the nut till I know I am metal to metal for sure .I do not seat the bearings by really tightening the nut...

Cracked door glass

Just noticed my passenger door glass has cracked . The glass is laminated and was fitted to my 31 CCPU summer of 2016 just over 5 years ago . The crack is vertical about 6" back from the front edge ....

Your speedo drive cap will be marked on the "bump" if you have the standard 3.78 rear end it will be marked 9/34 . The vendors only sell this ratio cap and it is way more likely you have the 9/34 ....
