Re: 32 spare tire locking strap with working key

My spare tire mounts have a threaded boss on the body side of the mount for the strap. The rim flange is on the other side so no special bolt required.

I would jack up the rear of the car and put it on jack stands. With the rear hanging, put wood blocks between the the spring ends and the rear end. Start up with jacks under both ends of the axle....

Heavy duty truck 4 speed trans. It has no synchreonizers and a very low first gear. It appears to be from an F2 which would put in the early 50's. Only good for a restored heavy truck.

I am planing a jig so the plate is square and have room to solder both sides. I could start a flare and then flatten it for more area. I think a good solder job would be fine.
