The first TAG you showed is FORD MOTOR COMPANY of CANADA. The 2nd you show is of a FORD AUTHORIZED REMANUFACTURER - WESTERN ENGINE WORKS LTD.

6108 on the 2nd TAG is a piston. 6211 ROD BRGS. 6331...

The flat gasket was used only the 1951/52 FORD-O-MATIC. 1953/ went to the O-RING.

You can find them NOS on EvilBay but I would suggest a current...

I have no doubt the OP is reading the CODE correctly.

The problem is it does not follow common protocol. You would need all CASTING ID from the block including any codes in the tappet valley.

Darrell is correct.

The RG (on pre-1958 FM) is located on the CONVERTOR COVER (BPN 7950) and not the FLEX-PLATE (BPN 6375)

1P 7950-E is correct for your 1954 239CI FM.

This is a puzzler. No DATE CODE, FOUNDRY MARK or MOLD NO.?

Do you know if it is a 302 or 5.0L? One piece rear seal and/or roller cam? Somebody has the answer and I am as curious...

It's hard to say exactly what it is (was) as the PN was dropped from the system. D9 indicates 1979 but this being a reman, that will not nail the exact...

Sorry. What I meant by LOCK-UP was the TQ having a LOCK-UP FEATURE as in the later C3. That feature is described in the short but does not apply to the FM, FX or FMX.

Watch this short and it will explain the TORQUE CONVERTER. While this is not exactly the converter style being discussed, it should give a basic understanding.

The FM has no LOCK-UP FEATURE but...

Concerning TORQUE CONVERTER RETENTION, it is clearly stated in the WSM (that Henry brought down from the mountain) -



This is a CYA, especially if the converter wasn't drained before dropping...
