I have a dead fuel gauge for my '36 coupe. It has red painted lines on the background, but my other gauges have brown painted lines, so I'd like to find a functioning gauge with brown painted lines...

Re: 1936 coupe stuck spare tire lock.

FYI, in my case it appears that the inner doughnut funnel is riveted to the large flat decorative spare cover. Again, in my mind they are separate pieces and would come off the car as separate...

Re: 1936 coupe stuck spare tire lock.

My thought was that this lock holds the doughnut trim piece in place, but the...

Re: 1936 coupe stuck spare tire lock.

Yes I have. With the key is turned to the right as far as possible, around the 2-o'clock position, everything is very solid. The wheel feels solidly fixed to the car.

For what it's worth, the...

1936 coupe stuck spare tire lock.

I have a 1936 Ford coupe (that I recently purchased) with a "hurd" spare tire lock that is currently on the car with the spare tire in place, but I can't unlock it even though the key seems to turn...

Re: Will reversed battery polarity hurt anything?

Thanks everyone for your prompt and thorough replies.

To clarify some questions that some of you had:
- Yes, it's 6v.
- Yes, the existing coil is the 'beer can' type with a + and - pole.
-...

Will reversed battery polarity hurt anything?

I have an all original 1936 Coupe that I purchased recently. It started and ran fine during the test drive of 5-7 miles.

Recently I noticed that the battery was installed as a negative ground,...

Need color-coded spark plug wires for 59AB.

I'm rebuilding my 59AB engine with the original distributor and would like to use color-coded spark plug wires instead of the original brown wires. To me, the original brown wires are just plain...

Re: How to get 'silver head nut' look.

Thanks for the interest Heard. I certainly like the 1935 Ford pickups, and I've had mine for over 10 years now, and it's been sitting stationary for about 9.5 of those years. I finally got tired of...

Does anyone know the typical way this is done? Zinc? Stainless?

Just plain zinc head nuts? Will they rust? Is the metal 'grade'...
