It's a normal AA bumper that was chrome plated. The deluxe bumper (seen in the picture Brad posted) was a two bar set up similar to the passenger car bumper.

The frame number will tell you the day the original engine was assembled, it could be 2-3 months before it was put into a car and stamped onto the frame.

I look at it differently. I blame the owner of the car. Shouldn't they have recognized that they were doing a scene that took place in 1927...but they showed up in a '31? Perhaps the History Channel...
