Re: Change coupe to roadster?
Just thinking of a temporary thing until I can afford all the wood to rebuild my cab. In another question, I once saw a supplier that sold a metal coupe roof insert. My coupe had a home-made metal...

Change coupe to roadster?
Years ago I think I saw a "universal top kit" that could possibly be adapted to give my 1929 Coupe a fold-down soft top. Is something like that available?

Re: Inner tube advice needed
To the Master Cylinder: all the holes in the tubes showed up on the part where they touch the rim liners which are perfectly smooth.

My old one was made in China. My newest one was made in Vietnam. I'm going to order one from Brattons and hope theirs is better.

Re: Inner tube advice needed
Little tiny holes on the inner part, next to the rubber stem. I need to pick up some new patches and cement and try again. When I go to town tomorrow, I will ask the guys at the tire store....maybe...

Inner tube advice needed
Do any of the suppliers sell a heavy-duty 21 inch inner tube? I patched, installed, re-patched, installed my older one....another leak! Gave up. Got my new one installed today......new leak....

Re: Horn rod moves with steering wheel
I drilled out the first inch of the light tube, got the steering wheel a little farther down, and used a little emery cloth on the last inch of the horn rod, put a little grease there, and put on the...

Re: Horn rod moves with steering wheel
I think I have it fixed. Everything is back together and the light switch does not move when I turn the wheel. Thanks for all the good ideas. Model A people are the best!

Re: Horn rod moves with steering wheel
No paint or goo that I can see. I am going to use a small file to clean up the splines and go from there. I put some "never-sieze" on them when I had it on, so it was pretty easy to tap it off with...

Re: Horn rod moves with steering wheel
I think the problem is this: the steering wheel hub did not seat down on the steering column far enough. The horn tube did not stick out past the steering wheel nut. Should I clean up the splines so...

Re: king pin locking bolt
I just noticed last week that one of my king pin locking pins had fallen out! Checking back in my manuals, I see that the pin should be driven in from the front of the axle and then the nut and lock...

Re: Horn rod moves with steering wheel
My horn rod is brand new and perfectly straight. Everything works perfectly until I compress the spring and slip the clip on the shaft to hold the spider on. That apparently pulls the top of the...

Horn rod moves with steering wheel
I have everything back together on my 7-tooth steering shaft, and the light/horn rod works just fine until I attach the spider at the bottom. I have seen on other threads that there is a thin light...

Re: Is this a standard 21" Model A wheel?
So far so good. This wheel matches the ones on the car. I forgot I had another one that is in better condition....but I am going to use this one and use the other one when I can afford a new tire. I...

Never mind! I had the thrust screw on the wrong side of the cover!

Is this a standard 21" Model A wheel?
Can you tell from this photo if this is a standard wheel and not an AR?
This is my spare wheel I am working on.....very badly rusted rim, but I'm
smoothing it out with a airtool scaler and an angle...

the inside diameter of the steering shaft. The old retainer will have to do. Maybe the shaft on the column I am...

Re: 7 Tooth Help
I guess you are right about the O-ring. From what I read, some machining would
be necessary to use it. I don't plan on using it. I am still wondering if the felt washer needs to be cored out or...
