Re: 32 Cabriolet Door Garnish Compatability
Thank you David, that info is very helpful. The metal fabricator said it would be much better to have a molding close enough to the original that can be altered as opposed to creating it from...

32 Cabriolet Door Garnish Compatability
Hi, I heard that at least one model, possibly the 5 Window Coupe, has a door garnish that's compatible with the 32 Cabriolet with some length modification. Does anyone know which car it is? I have...

Re: 32 Cabriolet Window Guide Channels
Thanks for the info. The window frames do have rollers but no spring loaded side rollers. Here's a photo for reference. Since I have this one I can have a fabricator make a second one. The...

32 Cabriolet Window Guide Channels
I hope everyone had a nice 4th of July weekend. The window guide channels for my 32 Cabriolet that mount vertically inside the doors have been impossible to find. Does anyone know if these channels...

32 Cabriolet Lebaron Bonney Top Instructions
Hi, I'm looking for copies of the installation instructions for the top made by Lebaron Bonney for a 32 Cabriolet. I'm buying the top from a member on this forum but the instructions seem to have...

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
Actually I was mistaken. The new bearings from Dennis Carpenter measure .442" in height and the originals measure .419". This is what's been taking up the space and binding the assembly. I'll try...

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
Yes, thanks for the info. I had the upper race flush with the top of the box surface just for the photo. I actually depressed it so that the worm gear would have no detectable end to end play but...

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
Thanks for all the great responses. Right now, there's way too much play in the assembly with the upper race being flush with the top of the housing. I'll depress it until everything is centered...

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
Well I've finally found the time to reassemble the steering gear box for the 32 Cabriolet. I had to restore the steering wheel and locate a new steering column tube from Metal Supermarkets. The PPG...

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
Yes, definitely. The worm gear is in great shape. I ordered the new bearings from Dennis Carpenter since Mac's was out of stock, but the rest of the parts are coming from Mac's.

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
I love the smell of PB Blaster in the morning... smells like - Victory!!!
Thanks for all the advice. Note the wooden dowel that I tapped it out with.

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
OK, thanks. I'll try hitting it from the bottom today after it's soaked in the PB Blaster. I tried that yesterday but not too much for fear of damaging the worm gear. I know drilling will be a...

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
Thank you for all the replies. Well after a busy day I finally had the chance to attempt removing this bearing cup again. There's really no way to tap it out since it would have to be tapped from...

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
Thank you, this is all great info. I'll give that a try in the morning. I actually have one of those tubes brand new in a bag, but I never knew what it was for. Do you think that if I use Penrite...

Thanks David, I'll definitely do this. I actually already have a complete gasket set from Bob Drake which looks to be the same as Mac's. After disassembly I'll order any worn parts for replacement....

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
OK, I jacked up the front end and tested the steering on each side. The steering wheel makes a complete 1 & 1/2 turns on the left side without resistance. On the right side however, after 1/4 turn...

Re: 32 Model B Cabriolet steering adjustment
Thanks for the responses. I'll measure the drag link and double check the Pitman arm. I never worked on the steering, but the restoration shop I had the car at years ago probably did. I've only...
