Re: Too much radiator pressure
Yeah, that's pretty much the question I was initially looking for an answer for, but I threw out more info that caused more questions.
After a closer inspection of the head, I think what I am...

Re: Too much radiator pressure
No, that flathead has always ran cool. The aluminum radiator came with the 16lb. I bought the 7lb because it was the first one that came up on the list. It appears that O'Reilly has the 7004,...

Re: '40 Ford coupe rear windshield seals
Kube,
I put my rear windows in 20 years ago with Carpenter rubber and they were too big that long ago. One would think that they would have corrected the problem since then.
I've been pulling...

Re: Porters or Smithy's ?
I was cheap and went with a set of Walker Glasspack Mufflers - 24041, on my '40 stake truck, with 1 3/4" tailpipes. After about 5000 miles, I'm still quite pleased. I don't have any drone going...

OLD Offy heads - 18 mm Spark Plugs hitting valves
I have been monkeying around with my "spare" flathead, preparing to fire it yesterday. It's a 59 block, with a 3 3/8" bore and 4" stroke, and a small lift cam of about .3125 lift. Wearing an OLD...

Re: Wiring diagram
My favorite part of that wiring diagram is the "Traffic Beam" and "Country Beam" designation for what we normally now refer to as "hi and low" beams.

Re: 40 color
Just so you are aware, Joe...I have said that if I ever wind up with a '40 sedan, it will more than likely be Cloud Mist Grey.
I'm a fan. ;-)

Re: 40 color
Oh, and I agree that looks more like Cloud Mist Grey. I like both. My truck started it's life Acadia green, and the insides still have that color.

Re: thermostats
After reading Old Henry's testing thread, and installing a freshly repaired radiator, I put stats back into my 221. I used his wire trick to keep them held into place.

Re: Secret to acorn nuts?
Interested to see your solution, because the ones that I got from Speedway are too tight to fit without the use of semi-destructive install methods.

Re: 12 volt question and dust clouds
GB,
When I did the gauges in my coupe and truck, I made some of these reducers. They go one per gauge.

Re: Extra Front Coil?
Sounds like a home built suspension mod to me. I've never seen anything like that on anything that I have messed with.

Way cool, Talkwrench.
Not trying to hijack, but my '40 stake truck was used in a pinup shoot last September. Was fun to watch the model and the photographer do their thing. All I did was move...
