Re: '35 parking brake floorboard boot plate questions

That’s what I was guessing — but seems like a potentially annoying rattle.

'35 parking brake floorboard boot plate questions

I'm restoring the floorboard/trans cover area in my '35 5 window. This plate is part of the parking brake lever assembly. Can someone tell me -- first of all -- should it have this bend in it? (My...

Re: 39’ Deluxe questions.

I have the hinge-pin style mirrors on my '35 coupe and would love to swap on a convex mirror on the passenger side. Is there someone that makes just the mirror head that I could swap onto my arms?...

Re: '35 Ford Coupe tail light lamp

Years ago I came across a tip on the Barn: paint the inside of your taillight buckets gloss WHITE. I've done it on a number of cars since. It works.

Re: What cool accessories/add-ons are out there

WTB: 1936 Passenger Car Transmission Cover

Hi --

I'm putting a '39 trans in my '35 coupe. Need to find a good '36 transmission cover (which accommodates the forward position of the shift tower). A '35 cover WON'T work.

I'm in Nor...

'35 and '36 transmission covers: interchangeable??

I'm putting a '39 transmission into my '35 coupe. The forward-position of the '39 transmission tower will require modifying the hole in my transmission cover -- basically moving it forward 1 1/4"

Re: Need some '35 floorboard seal insight

Update: I was able to make the BD rubber seals work -- after cutting them up, punching holes where they were missing, etc etc. Thanks to Don's original diagram I edge-stapled the seals instead of...

Need some '35 floorboard seal insight

When I bought my coupe it came with a set on new floorboards, plus a box of Drake's floorboard seals. The wooden floorboards fit nicely -- but the fit of the seals is pretty sloppy. They're also...

Re: Ecklers no more

Ditto.

G&G is wonderful. Kyle knows Fords, gets back to you immediately, and I my parts usually show up within two days.

Re: Drive shaft lock pin

Just a follow up: I cut the C&G pins to length and the peened over readily.

Re: Drive shaft lock pin

The pinion is new — just put in 3.54s — and the coupler’s NOS so there’s no play at all. I think I’ll grind this one off and drive it back out, and use the softer C&G. Then shrink wrap it. I like...

Re: Drive shaft lock pin

So...how many days' pounding does it take to peen over an original pin? I got a couple of OEM pins from Fred Willner (Southside Obsolete) and a couple of aftermarket ones from C&G. I decided to go...

Re: Looking for 1939 Ford Deluxe cardboard door panels

I've always used luan. Just make sure the grain is going the right direction for any curve in your panel.

Re: C & G Ford Parts Outstanding Service

I love C&G. Lots of knowledge, huge inventory, awesome customer service. I had a call from them, out of the blue, back during the holidays. They just called to wish me a Merry Christmas.

Re: 28, 29 vs 30,31 What do you like any why?

That beautiful curved line on the cowl sides of the 28-29 does it for me. I've had a couple including an RPU -- and indeed, it was tiny. I'd consider a 30-31 roadster next, because you can get down...

WTB: Wide-Five wheel centers in 15 inch rims

Looking for a set someone has fabricated, passed them up at swap meets but now I have a need. I understand Marmon-Herrington's came with 15 inch wide-fives, but don't expect to ever find a set...

Re: Not Ford, But Definitely Timely

Ditto here. We crank it up to HIGH about ten minutes before climbing into bed, then turn it to low when we get in. Love it.

Re: ‘35 window crank knob removal?

Yep, the ivory knobs. Thanks. I'll do the levering off. I really want to save the originals.
