Trasmission gear wear
Hello,
I am wondering whether the gear wear as shown in the attached pictures is acceptable. Back story: These gears came out of a car that had a lot of growl noise when driving in first and...

Re: GAV on Model B Carb INOP
@MAG: Thanks for that tip. I had been wondering what the spring-looking-like thing was in the pictures on Vince F.'s website... had thought it was a thread, turns out it's a, uh... spring, duh........

Re: You ever do something really STUPID?
Took my '31 Roadster out for the first time in a few months, not noticing that all coolant had leaked out. While driving, I attributed the burning smell I kept getting to some oil I had spilled on...

Re: Thread size for Model B jets
Hi folks,

Thread size for Model B jets
Hi folks,
My reading and measurements indicate that the threads on Model B carb. jets (e.g. main, cap, other) are 10-34, yes, ten dash thirty four, not the standard 10-32. No amount of Googling...

Mutant B Carb
I purchased (what I thought was) a Model B carburettor, for the purposes of acquiring a core to be re-built. I didn't look close enough, for though it has nearly the form of a Model B carb., it has...

Re: Which SCAT crank?
FWIW, I have had two 'modern' (neoprene?) rear main seals fail on me after <1000 miles. I have since reverted to the traditional seal set-up, providing no more than minor oil leakage for ~6000 mi....

I recently had to repair even the A&L US-made brake light switch with the brass bushings, even after only ~6 months of daily use. I was not very happy about that, for, given that one...

Re: Banjo Fracture
Thanks for the comments folks.
This differential underwent a mild re-build about one year and 10,000 miles ago (it was really just to swap the ring-and-pinion gear, to a 1:3.54 ratio).
