My gut feeling is that if you don't know what was done during the rebuild you should not buy it. Even at $3K you are gambling.

Contact H and H and ask them the price of rebuilding an 8BA to stock and ask what "stock" means. I would think that some upgrades must have been made like installing adjustable lifters...
