Well, you could make a guide out steel and put a bronze liner in it. Still, why not knurl the outside of the guide you have and drive it in! Knurling expands the diameter.

No, you knurl the outside surface of the valve guide increasing the OD to obtain a press fit.

Use a valve guide knurling tool, it looks like a tube cutter with the cutter wheel replaced with a knurling wheel. Check with Goodson Tools.

The GM part number:2368099.
I was using NOS Model B lifters with my Burtz cam in my Burtz block. The new valves from major model A suppliers were way too short, the V1558 valves where long enough...

I was in the same situation earlier this year, it seems that SP V1558 is no longer made. I found some on eBay under the GM part number.

Wrap a .002” thick shim stock around half of the reamer and run it through by hand. That will open it up just a bit.

Corrosion, means moisture. Look for a possible valve seat crack.

You will have to relocate the terminal box to inside the firewall. Also if using sock exhaust manifold you have an interferance at the rear. Headers or modify the firewall slightly.

I wanted to retain the cars serial numbers case and have the shift tower come through the floor in the stock location as well as have the ebrake handle in the original location and height. Later...

I have 1938 transmission gears in a 32 case with the original 32 top shifter. I don’t remember all the details but it involved a bit of machining on the 2-3 fork. Late 39 has the larger diameter...
