Squeaky fuel pump

I had the intake off of my '47 59 A/B over the winter. I have the car all back together and it is running great except for a light squeaking sound coming from the fuel pump area. I squirted some oil...

I'm looking at a '37 Ford hot-rod that was built probably 30 years ago using some '50's era (maybe...

Heat for my garage

I live in NE Ohio, and I want to add heat to my 22x22 garage. I am considering one of those hanging units, but I don't know what size (BTU) would work best. I have a 50,000 BTU in another garage that...

6V alternator install

Does anyone have experience with replacing the 6v generator with a 6v alternator? Are there major wiring alterations, and where is a good place to buy one?
I would guess that the stock regulator...

Re: thermostats

I had the same problem. I had to cut the wires so that they didn't extend below the bottom of the clamp. It did correct my moving thermostat issue.
I think originally the thermostats were held in...

Re: Right bank won't warm up

I did the wire trick, I had a problem at first with the hoses leaking. I solved that by trimming the wires so that they just catch the top of the clamp. This way the clamp grabs the wires, but seals...

Re: thermostats

What gage is that wire? Do you trim it so that it stops short of the clamp (so it doesn't leak)?
Thanks!

Re: Right bank won't warm up

I checked that right bank thermostat and I found it pushed up in the hose. I put it back down and re-tried it. The left bank was warming up, but not the right. I pushed down on the hose by the head...

Right bank won't warm up

I have a 47 Super Deluxe with a rebuilt 59AB engine. I have been having problems with the gas boiling out of the carb when I shut it down on a hot day. I read that due to the modern fuel, you need to...
