In my '36 coupe I had years ago I found a vintage 7 wire turn signal switch that had a wheel .When adjusted correctly the wheel rode on the back of the steering wheel hub.Self cancelling worked...

Here is a '33 Dlx tudor barn find in France.It was discovered last year and sold in an auction for 15,500 Euros.The engine was stuck.So they are still out there and in Europe.
