Be careful! According to the Bratton’s website that tool might cause cancer. It has a prop65 warning.

Tom thank you for the information. I am beginning to reinstall me backing plates and have the same issue. I’m going to try the washer solution.

I just finished this exact project. I used the spreader and left the spring in the car. It was easy and safe. Those springs can be scary if the center bolt is broken.

I was surfing craigslist and found this lost prototype Model A. I bet Henry would be upset if he knew some employee sneaked this out of the factory. I live too far away to pick this one up. Hopefully...

Nothing rust metal faster on the ranch than fertilizer. Get some granular fertilizer and wet it on the steel rust very fast.
