Re: 1935-36 Luggage Rack Length Difference

Pictures of short vs long, 35-36 luggage rack brackets. The overall length of short bracket = 21", long bracket = 25" as measured in pictures.

Re: Falling out of 2nd gear

RSK, I rebuilt the transmission in my 35 fordor sedan in 2019 using improved synchronized donor gears from a 46-48 side shift transmission. Prior to this rebuild, the stock transmission constantly...

Re: Wanted 35 Speedometer

You may want to consider putting this in the "classifieds, wanted section" instead of "general discussion".

Re: Local Estate Auction 1935 Roadster Sells for $53,925.00

Thanks for the update on this auction. I wondered how it would sell being a hybrid of '35 and '36.

Re: Running cooler - does this make sense?

I believe the washers, and every other vane removal on water pump impellers, started with the dirt track roundy round stock car racers who were running these flathead engines wide open throttle...

Re: 36 Rear Spring Removal

Stretch Cab, I'm very happy to hear you got this done safely, considering some of the instructions given here by a couple members were just plain poor advice.

Re: 1935 NORS brake drums

No, brake shoe contact width is greater on '35 drums compared to '33-'34.

Re: Need some '35 floorboard seal insight

Don, thanks for the clarification on this. I'll check that sheet metal toe board to see if I can find any remnants of the anti-squeak material, possibly still attached at those rivets.

Re: '35 and '36 transmission covers: interchangeable??

That's exactly what I was planning to do if/when I put a '39 double detent shifter on my '35 transmission built with better 2nd & 3rd synchronized '46-'48 gears.

Re: Need some '35 floorboard seal insight

Don, the wooden floor boards/toe boards in three of my original '35 sedans have what appears to me to be a typical felt type anti-squeak material stapled around the outer perimeter of the boards....

Re: The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

I knew one of the '35 3w guys was MIA here, but just couldn't remember who it was ;) :D
I'm hoping things get better soon for your wife, you, and your family.

Re: Engine I.D. numbers

I have no idea how the four banger engines are/were stamped, but know the early 21 stud V-8 engines were not stamped with much information, if at all.
Some of the LB (loose main bearings) engines...

Re: Wire wheels on a 36

I'll check into this by assembling some actual parts and see what it looks like.

Re: Wire wheels on a 36

Re: Wire wheels on a 36

Okay, thanks Brian, that's what I recall reading here some years ago when I was trying to determine what I would need to do to be able to switch back and forth between using '35 wires, '40 solids,...

Re: Wire wheels on a 36

Brian, I thought you, or maybe it was someone else here, had confirmed this fit up would work in the past.
Did you have any issues getting the spindle nut to go on far enough for a cotter pin to...
