Re: Model 'A' Boo Boo's or Oopsie Daisy's

I once left out the spring that pushes on the cam shaft. And, of course, the cover leaked the second time because I didn't get the cover sealed properly.

Re: How do you use your Model A?

While I was still working, I drove mine to work every day. Now that I'm retired, I drive it occasionally, to club meetings, and on the several tours with our club in the summer. Plans for this summer...

I generally buy all my wiring harnesses from Sacramento Vintage Ford. They make their own and are top notch.

Re: Pulley broken

Something must have changed because I am using the stock "ratchet nut" with the Horn balancer I purchased several years ago.

Re: Installing rear hub seals—what’s the trick

The Snyder tool A-1175-T tool works better with a press than just banging it with a hammer.

Re: Dynamat Sound Deadening alternatives??

I've used a combination of Dynamat and Roadkill. Roadkill seems to work just as well and is less expensive than Dynamat.

Re: model a ford head light bars

My '31 CCPU came to me with a 28-29 headlight bar. It set the headlight buckets way too high. I have since remedied that with a correct '31 part. Will they fit? obviously, just don't look correct.

Re: Pan Gasket

My engine builder (Ron Kelley, RIP) did not use a gasket, he just used a layer of Permatex.

Re: Free Registration

Once & done for "Historic Vehicle" here in Alaska. I would run YOM plates, but they are few and far between, and if you could find them, they are out of my price range.

Re: Pink slip California car ownership history search tips ?

My '31 CCPU came to me from CA, and it did have a "Pink Slip". Should have made a copy of it, but didn't have that presents of mind at the time. This was in 2010.

Re: Looking for a '40's/'50's electric fuel pump.

Several years ago I tried to find a Stewart Warner pump that was bolted to the firewall similar to the coil, but they were long gone from the planet.

Re: Timing Wrench

Only once did I have to set the timing on the roadside, and the NuRex wrench came to the rescue. This was on a friend's car.

Re: Snap-on S-8663 Obstruction Wrench

I have one of those. While they do work, they are very crudely made. The Snap-On tool is not much different in price if you watch. MAC Tools also made one. I have all 3 on display out in my shop.
