About the gear grinding.
These old Fords, only had a synchro between 2nd and 3rd. Works going up (1 to 2 to 3) or going down (3 to 2). Downshifting to 1st without a grind requires a COMPLETE stop....

6 volts DC to 12 volts DC

I'd like to install a couple of 12 volt dc items to my recently acquired '41 pickup running a 6 volt electrical system.
The additions are low load LEDs, a tachometer and a clock.
How is the best...

Sweet ride! Drive the wheels off it.
Since you don't intend to drive it in the rain, cycle the top sparingly and put a new one on when the existing one fails to keep the sunshine off the seats

'39 Coupe dome light switch

Looking for an operable slide switch used to control the dome light in a 1939 Deluxe coupe. Don't require the bezel, just the switch.

I believe the solenoid is shown to depict the source of a battery connection for headlight power. It does not perform any function in the headlight circuit. dw
