Re: 4 or 6

Re: A Question about rear axel shims
I had the same issue with the RHS of my Tudor. I swapped from steel to cast drums, so a different hub, and found I no longer needed a shim. So it is not always the axle, sometimes it is the hub.

Re: Tailpipe lamp orientation
You only need to tighten the bolt until the ends of the clap just touch and cheek that you can still move the pipe. If it doesn't move, loosen the bolt until it does. Calling it a clamp can be...

Re: roadster rear spring
This is how much was missing from the top leaf of my roadster spring, with a standard length top leaf from an eight or ten leaf pack, and a replacement I scerfed the edges on a leaf from a set that...

roadster rear spring
I am restoring the rear end of my roadster. When I removed the rear end, I found the top leaf was cracked and missing about 50mm of one end. No problem, I'll get another from the leaf collection, or...

Re: Front brake Adjustment
I don't know anything about the 32 brakes, but with stock 28-31 brakes, if you follow Paul Shinn's video, you'll have good brakes. With good well adjusted 28-31 brakes, the limiting factor is the...

Re: slant windshield town sedan
Available from the factory. This is the only sedan I've seen with the camper front seat, but have seen a few 28-29 Australian bodied tourers(phaetons )with this feature.

Re: slant windshield town sedan
Trimming and fit outs were different in Australia compared to the USA. Things like colour schemes, we had coloured mudguards and wheels for some schemes, we had sport tourers and roadsters in 1928...

Re: slant windshield town sedan
OK, so it looks like the earliest would be March 1931 for USA, add 3-4 months for Australia, so about June-July 1931 for Australia. Definitely fits in with 1930 models being sold into 1932 in...

Re: slant windshield town sedan

Re: Banjo rear end - worth saving?
The other parts might be OK. If some bits are usable, then it's worth saving. I use old axles to make other parts, like pedal shafts, sleeving the front axle where the king pin goes through etc.
