when joe back yard mechanic does a rebuild on a model A water pump 9 times out of ten he will not line up the rear bushing properly. he will drive the bushing in and it will block...

on the replacement can you fit a good quality shouldered threaded bolt through that hole instead of the pin. you may have to slim down the bolt a tiny bit but keep it snug.

when you are coming to a stop, or maybe slowing while going down hill, the fuel in the float bowl surges forward starving the internal well...

Never switch to what they call a modern points set, those are even worse junk with a plastic follower, not fiber, and that plastic will melt on...

Recheck the timing. Set it with a lite or buzzer. By eye not so good.

Here is the solution.
There is so little psi at the model a carb which was originally being supplied fuel via gravity that this fuel pump and regulator set up on a remote tank can not be set low...

that is a good idea. I'll check that.

the fuel shut off I'm installing near the carb will stop the fuel as long as i always remember to shut it off. (sometime old people forget stuff).

-fuse the system (already wired in).
-redirect the original style wiring harness to a simple on/off ignition switch first....
