Re: Resistor Coil

Are you changing to 12 volts or staying with 6 volts? Are you using the original style coil or a modern round can style coil ?

Re: '39 Lincoln steering

The Lincoln Zephyr box doesn’t work just like the Ford units. The Lincoln box uses shims underneath the sector shaft to set the lash and then the screw in the top is there to hold the sector from...

Re: Taking apart a '40 column shift.

I’m assuming you’re referring to part number 7318 ? Once it’s lifted offf the column it should slide off.

Re: 21A rods set up on a 4" Merc crank

Re: 21A rods set up on a 4" Merc crank

Big end of the rods should measure 2.220. Then measure the diameter of the crank journal then measure the thickness of the bearing at the crown and multiply by two. then with a little arithmetic...

Re: What's needed to install a 24 stud into an earlier 21 stud car

I put a 59A in a 36 about 20 years ago. Best I remember it was pretty straight forward other than the radiator hoses. Used the 36 generator and fan also.

Re: 59 ab into 35 coupe

Are you sure it’s a 59A and not an 8BA ? 49 Fords had 8BA engines so if you do have an 8BA you’ll need a truck pan or even better a Mercury pan. The 59A should already have a rear sump pan.
