Re: change to hydraulic brakes on a -36
I believe the O/P would be well served by spending some time reviewing the myriad of posts on this subject on the forum. It would serve him well to at least understand the difference between Bendix...

Re: change to hydraulic brakes on a -36
$649.95? In 1960, I put a '39-'48 master cylinder into my '36 with stock pedals with $.50 worth of angle iron and some spare bolts. It worked very well, but probably didn't look quite as good as the...

Re: 8BA Flathead Fuel Pump Rod Groove
I put a "Charlie NY" rebuilt on the '51 Merc engine I installed in my coupe in 2016. Hasn't missed a beat since.
I removed the electric pump at the same time.

Re: 8ba cooling question
I checked my car several years ago and also found the left bank ran hotter than the right. I have Fenton headers on the car, so I don't believe the exhaust had any influence on it. I don't remember...

Re: Condenser
Gary, I agree with these gentlemen that if the magneto condensers will fit in the stock location, they would probably be a better choice. (And they're cheaper than mine.)

Re: Evans Aluminum Heads
They're all pretty much the same. The important part is that any heads need to be custom fitted to the particular engine to obtain optimum quench. See the thread By "GB Sisson" entitled "276 stroker...

Good eye, "Kube". I completely missed that. Another example of your attention to detail.

I will note that the "bullet" connectors shown look different from the original Ford units. They will probably work, but.....

Re: engine stumbles under load
I had a MSD "Ready to Run" distributor on an 8BA and it had too much advance (Chevy Curve). I went back to a mechanical only Mallory and have been very satisfied. Although the major car manufacturers...

Re: Condenser
I'm sure "Lawrie" remembers, but for the rest of you, we went through this together with an experimental .36 micro-farad version of my "Trash Can" and it did not end well (the internal capacitor was...

Re: Oil Pump?
I don't believe any of that for a minute. Did you know that the factory specification for oil pressure for an 8BA was 57psi at speed. Even the early engines ran a lot more than 10-15 psi unless they...

Re: Bucket seats for 50 Ford
If your seat is in bad condition you might want to consider a set of these on eBay : https://www.ebay.com/itm/325564645547. I'm considering getting a set to protect my decent original upholstery.
