Re: brake shoe
Just as a point of interest, my 54 Ford customline shoes are same width front and back. But the front shoes have an additional hole in the side for a rear facing return spring. I did mine and must...

Re: '55 Ford car headlight swtich
I had the same problem when I put a new switch in but used the old knob and rod. If I remember right, I really tightened the outside nut that has the goofy turning slots. I haven't taken mine back...

Re: Can't get clear answer on spark plugs
So the NGK cross reference for the original H-10 plug lists 4:
NGK B-4H-10
NGK B4H-10
NGK PFR6H-10
NGK PFR7H-10
I assume the last three are hotter plugs (I have no idea why #1 and #2 have...

Re: Synthetic oil in a Model A
I use semi-synthetic (with no leaks) 10-40 with high zinc and phosphorus. No complaints other than cost. I change oil before 1,000 miles but that's about 2 years of driving.

These pump handle grease guns are the messiest, troublesome tool EVER invented. This is sure an over-ripe invention needing to be made!!

Re: Classtique Upholstery
I agree. Lots of bright, energetic young folks out there. Exactly what's wrong with them seeking higher paying, good benefits jobs?

Re: Model B carburetor
A spec is just a spec...in many cases just a starting place. I've found the B carb needs a little "experimentation" when on an A. After a bunch of tries, my float is set at a slight upward angle...

Re: My Cardiologist
If all you folks agree with this, I must be a MASTER MECHANIC cause my coupe steers, turns and brakes relatively easily. I think you should get another doctor, OR....walk for two miles and then...

Re: front motor mount '31 Model A
This is the right answer. That "beehive" aftermarket was famous for your problem. Put in the original style. Loosen the rear motor mount bolts. This will let the engine move forward. You may...

Re: Sticking Brakes
First thing would be a GOOD cleanup......then a "wear" inventory. The brakes on these cars can be an eternal source of frustration. A grab here....a screech there.... chatter everywhere. Adding new...

Re: Motorcrqaft TT10 alternatives?
I run the Autolite 3076 in my Coupe with a Mitchell ID and a 5.5:1 HC head. Car has great power and runs very smoothly with these plugs. Have tried others, but not with as good results.

Re: maximum rpm, personal choice...
I'm not comfortable running much above 2200 rpm. But I have a Mitchell and an HC 5.5:1 head. These let me drive between 50 - 55 mph at 1800 to 2000 rpm, with which I am very comfortable.

I can't even imagine getting a "patched" new tube. Maybe you should tell the vendor and suggest a new source for their tubes.
