it is clear from pic that perch has to be above spring shackle but mine is below. center section is correct leading me to believe the axle bells with the perchs are switched. the left and right have...

The problem is the perch is below the shackle and it should be on top. I think when I had everything apart 40 years ago I installed the bells on the wrong side. I am studying this to see if switching...

the perch on mine is below the spring thus the interference and the 9" between shock arm and perch. i too thought it should be the other way but is not the perch part of the axle housing? i am sorry...

I think so but it was 40 years ago when I got the car and rebuilt the rear end and installed new axles. My shackles point down, if they were reversed it looks like they wouldn’t interfere.

I would at least change the oil as you don’t know what is in there. Use 30wt and see if pressure increases.

we used these as HVAC techs. until the digital ones came out. had to rpm all the fans on the job and many times in less than ideal conditions.

i use a short piece of chain bolted to opposit corners of intake man., carb must be off. this way you can choose where to attach lift chain for different angles.

To eliminate the solenoid apply power directly to starter, if no go starter is problem.
