It's called Catalog of American Car ID Numbers 1950 -59.
I've also got 2...

Re: Decoding Mercury ID Plates
Thanks to mercman for enlarging the photo, I've noticed that 176 is actually 17G.
Compare the G to the other "6's" on the vin plate ~ an easy mistake to make.
That makes it the 17th of July for...

Re: 55 Ranchwagon fuel tank question - rhd
I've checked my chassis parts book and the `55 & `56 wagon's are the same. If the rhd was different, it would be listed. Like scicala said, I can't think of a reason a RHD wagon would have a...

Re: VIN decoding
As alt63bird suggested ~ If you look at your data plate again, it says the 8-cylinder engine number (probably a consecutive number with the two-digit engine code at the beginning?) is stamped on...

Re: 55/56 Ford front bumper license plate holder
`59's had them on the front bumper ~ here's a photo of one. Would they fit on a `55 -`56?

Re: 1955 ford radiator core support question
Steve, as Daves55 said above, it's a rectangular shaped rubber. Mac's, Carpenter, and Larry's Thunderbird's have them. Tee - Bird
products are the only one's that show an illustration of where it...

Can you do a vacuum/pressure check on both of the lines going to the
vacuum advance diaphragm? Something is causing it to go to ATDC.
I've checked vacuum at idle and there is none (500 ~ 550 rpm) ...
