Woodie, .18 on the distributor is way too much. You should have .03-.05 up and down movement.

Apparently both the trans and rear end were overfilled when they added oil.

Just let the oil flow out untill it levels itself to the bottom of the plug. Then, the next time you check you will...

Just try doing that today with the kids on top, overloaded load, livestock in the cab, no windshield wipers, missing headlight and no front plate.

voltmeter reading with alternator

So, what is the voltmeter (not ammeter) telling me?

At 30MPH the voltmeter reads 6.5. At 30MPH and the lights on it reads 7.

So, why would Paul make all of the adjustment he did on the bench? Wouldn't it save time by just doing the adjustment one time when it is up with the flywheel?

I just watched PS's video. He adjusted the fingers till they just about touched the plate.

But don't you have to make another adjustment when the flywheel is on? Or is my brain out of...
