Uh, because it is a simple statement ... ...
Paul,
You really need to sit up a little straighter as they are zinging over your head again.
What you have in your 56 interests me...

Re: 56 TBird
Well, why not a ECZ-A BLOCK & GREEN SEAT-COVERS?
Why the call-out on the timing cover? Is it something special that will give an extra fifty horsepower?
If he has a secret, he should share.

Re: Rear end squealing/whining
The noise(s) has to be isolated and diagnosed properly.
Try to avoid the loaded PARTS CANNON APPROACH.
There will be DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINES in your WORKSHOP MANUAL.

Re: Rear end squealing/whining
That test is done with the vehicle raised. It will isolate any wheel bearing(s) noise.
Are you sure the noise is not coming from the clutch/trans?

Re: Whatisit?
If that is a NOS BLOCK, I would leave it alone and put it up for sale ($$$).
The BLOCK CASTING ID NO. will be the same for a 2-bolt main or 4-bolt main.
The 4-bolt main block was subjected to a...

What you are describing can be done, but why would you do it on a driver rather than a HI-PO car? You have a FYB and 3/S TRANS?
You want an external slave cylinder?

A lot of details are dropped from the CHASSIS and MASTER PARTS CATALOG as time goes by as many parts are discontinued and/or replaced by later issue.
One would need a period correct (year) PARTS...

Re: Rear end squealing/whining
Maybe consider putting the rear axle on stands and try to source the noise with the engine running and in low gear.
With the rear turning, you should be able to source the noise. For axle...

Re: Horn “fade” on a ‘62
And there is your dinner ... ;)
There should be two horns (HI-LO) and a relay and horn button. Diagnose it and don't point a loaded parts cannon at it.

If it is a 1955, either US or CAN, it should be a 2-tooth sector gear unless it was upgraded to a 3T somewhere in it's service history.

Re: A bumper question for 56's
While perusing and reminiscing ...
I just noticed this car has a CONTINENTAL KIT. Now the question is it FORD or aftermarket? The exhaust would have to be modified/re-plumbed.
