Hello From engine side Z-bracket back, it is same as car. TB with 292 had a light duty trans, as I remember. Joe over on Y-blocksforever forum had a set up like yours (1955) for sale a while back...

Just off top of head, I assume motor mounts are in correct (starter will not come out if MM are reversed) position? I don't know what shop manual says, but never had a problem getting a starter out,...

Maybe go over to 1957 ford forum, there is info on this. Steering box should not squeal, rag joint probably would not cure problem. Thinking flexible joints helps with vibration mostly and are safer....

Hello Members Looking to buy Z bar bracket (B8a-7509b ?) This bracket bolts to engine block to receive Z bar on std trans car. This bracket has a pivot ball. For a 57 -59 may go to later models...

Hello Could be as Kultulz mention above. If starter bushing wear it causes a drag which causes problems like you have. A 12 volt jump may not cure problem. 55 years ago I had a YB with Jahns 5/8...

Hello The 1957 Thunderbirds with superchargers had to route fuel back to tank because of this problem (mention above) more a problem with vapor lock than flooding carb.

Can not see which direction vacuum canister is pointed. But looks like is not pointed at 7 or 8 eight cylinders like mentioned above.

Idea is to keep throw out bearing off fingers on clutch cover. If touching bearing will spin, wearing it out. All info in factory shop manual.

Hello You can get by with something home made. Been a while but made one. Thinking I used a 1/2 x 1 1/4 (what ever will fit in the rectangle slots) flat bar a little wider than rectangle slot....
