Re: Straightening the front bumper
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. The car is currently not running, as it is being restored, so the "tree" thing can't be done right now. I was thinking like Thodge stated, maybe the "clamping"...

Straightening the front bumper
I have a front bumper in good replated condition. However, it is bowed in about 1/2" inward. I don't know why the plating company didn't straighten it before replating, but they didn't. I believe...

Re: Steering Gearbox Mounting Bolt direction.
The nuts are on the outside of the frame so the cotter pins can more easily be installed.
I found a picture of the very early chassis Gary Karr was restoring. It shows the nuts are on the...

Re: Door alignment problem on 29 CCPU
The cab is not bolted to the frame, but I plan to do that. I don't see how bolting it to the frame would affect the location of the door at the bottom since the cab opening is correct at 28 1/2". ...

Door alignment problem on 29 CCPU
I am reassembling the cab on my 29 CCPU after the welding and bodywork were done. The wood from Classic Wood in NC left much to be desired. I had to do a lot of trimming in a number of spots and...

Re: Phaeton top rest question
Here is an update on the phaeton top hole plugs thread I started years ago. Yesterday I received the model T rubber hole plugs I ordered from Snyder's - T-3858-P. I installed them and they fit...

Re: Phaeton top rest question
I hate to disagree that the plugs were metal. But I have a picture of a fine point 28 phaeton and it had an unpainted black rubber plug. It is Dave Lopes' phaeton when Marco was upholstering it. I...

Re: Phaeton top rest question
I am going to order a pair of the plugs. I called Snyder's and ask if they would fit a model A - specifically a 28/29. The Snyder's fellow didn't know, but he ask someone and they said the hole...

Re: 29 CCPU Top Renew
I am restoring a 29 CCPU right now. One every 28-mid 30 pickup and AA truck has the nails (or most of them) at the top of the corner panels exposed. Ford should have extended the corner panel metal...

Re: Rear taillight bracket 28 sedan
Randy hit the nail on the head with a picture. I have no experience with Briggs and Murray fordoor sedans. Now I know, better late than never.

Re: Rear taillight bracket 28 sedan
The taillight bracket is fastened to the rear body crossmember, not the frame. There should be 3 D-nuts on the left side of the rear crossmember that accepts the fine threaded bolts that secures the...

Re: Block Restamp
The problem with a rivet gun is that it has many strokes when you pull the trigger. I think you would end up with a real mess with an illegible set of numbers. Just my opinion. I would use a 3 or...
