Re: Engine removal question
when I pull / install motors, with or without transmission, I don't remove the headlight bar, as it's a pain to get off / on.
but you need a hoist / chain-fall that can lift vertically not a...

Re: Cos of A Restoration
to start: a proper brake & hub / bearings rebuild will cost $3000 in parts.
normally: you will spend $30,000 on a driver rebuild... and can't sell it for more than $15k.

Re: #1 cylinder has 36psi compression

Re: #1 cylinder has 36psi compression

on the engine we just re-sealed ( gasket job )

we added oil to #1 and re-tested the compression, it rose to 50psi.
besides a drop in power, ...

Re: Frame
the attached image says 25 1/4"

Re: steering box mounting frame holes
update, & resolved for now.
I agree the best solution is to weld the holes and re-drill, but this is not viable now.
I used the 12mm fine pitch thread bolts, with the nuts on the inside and a...

steering box mounting frame holes
I have an A with 2 Tooth box,
the box moves... when you use the steering wheel.
I'm guessing the holes on the frame are "waller'ed'" out ( oval )

Re: rfitz
I like them both, but if you need more than 20Amp of current, at 6 volts: that's 120 watts,
the stock ford generator can't deliver it, the Alternator can.
The Ford's stock version of a generator...

Re: How Fast Will It Go?
Driving the A fast is easy ... it's the stopping it from those speeds that can be life shortening.
