Re: Early Ford emergency brake cable guide tube replacement.

You might consider a "wanted" ad for bare backing plates. There must be some out there.

Re: model a engine

Another more important question is if it was rebuilt, who rebuilt it? I know one local rebuilder that I consider their work so bad that I would rather have a tired engine than one they rebuilt. Do...

Re: Did a 1929 Ford station wagon in California use passenger or commercial license p

I live in Southern California and have a 1931 RDPU with passenger car plates. There is an exemption somewhere in the vehicle code that allows pre 1937 (I believe that is the correct cutoff year, but...

Re: Did a 1929 Ford station wagon in California use passenger or commercial license p

The good news is that California will allow you to run passenger plates even if it originally required commercial plates due to the age of the vehicle.

You forgot the part about "No gasket, oil leak".

Re: Can't replace hub after replacing brake pads.

Sounds like it may be the problem I had on my '37. My drums were all NOS. Did a little digging and found out that the suppliers at that time routinely arced all the shoes for .030 drums. I sent...

Re: 16" Wheels

When I put 600-16's in the fender well of my '31 I had to let the air out and carry a pump.

Re: Adapting a later Columbia to a 1934 axle

Remember that your Columbia set up the way you describe will be wider than the '34 rear end and the tires will move out, how much? I don't know.

Re: 1934 hydraulic rear brakes

If I didn't go to Boling Bros I would use '40-'48 Ford brakes. Remember pre and post war were slightly different and I would prefer the post war but at least make them all the same. I have them on...

Re: Model B Ford 4 cylinder identification

The rear mount for the Model B transmission was a flat plate that bolted to the "K" member in the '32 frame. The center was isolated in rubber to reduce vibration.

Re: Model B Ford 4 cylinder identification

The Model A flywheel will work on the Model B motor. If you decide to run a Model B transmission you will need to cut down the the Model A flywheel to clear the bell housing which has probably...

Re: Model B Block Boss on side of block

Ford engineers were developing a vacuum assisted clutch and this was where the vacuum cylinder mounted. The unit never made it to production but a lot of motors were produced with this boss. The...

Re: Model B Ford 4 cylinder identification

I doubt a '33-'34 engine was pulled from a '32. Here is a picture of the front cover for a '33-'34. Note that the mount for the generator sets the generator back towards the rear of the car to...

Re: Model B Ford 4 cylinder identification

I did exactly what you are asking about several years ago. The engine in my ’31 RDPU was tired and need to be replaced. I had a recently rebuilt “B” engine under the bench. I kept the Model A...

Unfortunately the "engine" number appears on the flywheel housing and he didn't say he had that.

I have never heard of an A or AA truck coming from the factory with a 4 blade fan. I have never seen a Model A part number for a 4 blade fan. The '32 four cylinder engine used the late 1931 Model...

Re: Block Restamp

Be very careful on this. If your vehicle is registered with your engine number that doesn't match your title and you change it you can get in a lot of trouble with the authorities.
