Re: rebuilding a fuel pump

Ok, I found the kit at Then and Now and didn't look to bad of a job. I will do it and just have a spare sitting on the shelf that will work.

rebuilding a fuel pump

How hard is it to rebuild a Y block FP (original) if I get the rebuild kit? It does not look to bad-as long as the case is good.

Thanks,

Hello,

I am trying to decide how to do this. The rockers on my wagon are rusty but still solid. At some point I will have to cut the top off so that I can derust/rust paint the inside and then...

Re: I give up

Just thought of this one. This happened to me once, I had the glass sediment bowl screwed on to tightly. I don't know how I did it but once I loosened the screw nut about a turn or so fuel started...

Re: I give up

You said that you removed the intake. But did you remove the exh. and have them both planed? Is either of them cracked? What about gland rings to keep the exh. manifold from sagging?

Just my 2...

Re: Stupid question of the day. (maybe the year)

I just tried that gasket and ditched it. I could not for the life of me get the square piece of gasket/cork in the rear main cap. I got a regular cork gasket and it went right in. I just use forma...

Re: Dropping the oil pan

I just did this and got the 'new' cork gasket that requires no sealer. I could not for the life of me get the square strip pressed into the rear cap. I bought a regular cork gasket and it went right...

K, I will post some photos tonight of the air cleaner and carb. I will look for the spacers as that may be the route I can go. I have not check yet to see how much clearance I have between the hood...

Re: carb question

I figure there were problems since it was a one year only before a redesign. The choke body sits high enough to interfere with the air cleaner so that the only way it sits with the choke in one3 of...

I have two prof. rebuilds and two I did. Mine leak but the prof. ones don't-go figure. Many miles on both.

I have had .125 in one of mine before. Don't recommend it but it worked.
