If your post 15 was in response to mine , its not the front or rear spacing . Its the space between the axle/ drum and the fender lip . You can’t tilt the wheel enough to remove . I’ve tried 2 jacks...

Ive got a 46 now working with tires . 215 x75 can barely be removed when jacked very high . I tried 225s but could not install . Mine is at stock height . Just something to think about.

Vacuum gauges are cheap , suggested you by or borrow one . It’ll tell you what’s happening by the needle, either steady and dropping or bouncing ( another issue)

I found a shock which may be a 1933 or 34 front . No arm and probably just parts . Free just pay shipping or pickup . I can email pictures.

Yes I do admit to welding a leaf spring on top, back many moons ago , it was a 34 . Used my dads Ac/Dc stick welder .

Have you determined that the original sender is bad ?
The piece above the distributor is the vacuum brake . It is used to limit your distributors spark advance .
