Re: Throw out bearing grease fitting

The throwout bearing most likely is the type that will not take grease and the fitting is only there to lube the bearing collar. Why not leave it as is and just give it a few drops of heavy oil now...

Re: installing grease baffle on front wheels Model AA truck

So the AA has a grease seal somewhere? It still looks (in photo) like the bearing is outside the baffle, and could still sling grease onto the brake lining. My model a doesn't have any grease seal in...

Re: installing grease baffle on front wheels Model AA truck

What I don't see in the photo is any baffle around the bearing, or is it part of the hub?

Re: installing grease baffle on front wheels Model AA truck

I believe the drawing is the correct application. On Bob C's photo, how does the baffle even function? It is inside of the slinging grease from the bearing.

Re: Eaton gas cap, original or aftermarket?

Rusted away. Looks like they would have to pay royalties if it isn't.

Re: Rear main options

Re: Rear main options

The cap can be re-babitted, but the crack shouldn't be the cause of a leak. What was the clearance? If too much it might be the cause of both. That bearing is still there if you want to use it for a...

When they stopped providing service. They used to check your coolant, oil, tire pressure, wash the windows all while pumping 25 cent a gallon gasoline!

Re: How many miles should spark plugs last?

When the electrode is burnt away so it can't be gapped, it is time for a new plug.

Re: Transmission Question

In some of my repair books it gives instructions to adjust for a "free" neutral. Congeled oil on the transmission discs and overtightened bands thwart true ease in rolling the car and also causes...

Re: Your wheel painting technique

I paint on top of old wire rabbit cages my wife had laying around. They are about 3' tall. I can get 3-4 wheels on one and there is no overspray or spatter because of the wire. I spray outdoors.
