You...

Re: Adjusting timing
Only three times... you did good!

Re: 1931 Tudor Phaeton

Unfortunately there are not many receipts...

Propane torch might show a leak with the fan belt off so there is no airflow from the fan.
Starting fluid is much more telling. Never had a problem with it flaming up while testing with it.

Re: I give up
Do as mentioned in post #10.
Spray starter fluid all around the manifolds when it is running and listen for a change in engine speed.
When installing manifolds I loosen the two bolts that hold...

Hi Ronn,
Took a look at it yesterday. There is quite a bit of body work yet to be done.
I'm pretty strong on the mechanical side of things but not as much on the body side of things. Working on...

It's looking as if I'll to be able to see it sometime tomorrow (Sunday June 1st).
It sounds as if the chassis is pretty much...

Re: Cast fuel bowl leaking- round two
Tim I went back and read your original post on this and it looks as if you may not be totally positive as the just where the fuel weep is coming from.
Turn the fuel off and get the carburetor...

Do you or a neighbor have a riding lawn mower? I would think making a short tow bar to hook onto the front bumper would move a Roadster minus an engine fairly easily.

Re: model a engine
Without documentation of a rebuild there is really no way to reliably tell what the condition of the engine is.
At this point you can do the minimally invasive checks as suggested or pull the...

Re: Nothing Seems to Fit!
Use a paint marker pen and paint the bolt in the area you think the bind is. Insert and remove it to see where the paint is scuffed to give you a better idea as the where the problem lies.

Re: Squeal that I can’t pinpoint
I had a similar issue several years ago. The noise would go away when the clutch pedal was depressed. It was the spring on my front motor mount. Put some oil on it and the noise went away.

Weber carburetor & fuel pressure question.
I'm starting to work on a car for a club member that has a Weber two barrel carburetor. It has a Holley inline fuel pump that from what I can find operates between 1.5 psi and 4 psi.
Is this range...

Re: transmission vent?
You'll probably need to remove your floor board as the hole is on the back side of the tower about even with the middle of the board. Hole is about the diameter of a ball point pen refill tube.

Re: radiator splashing
Rule out a head gasket leak by testing for combustion gasses in the cooling system.
An auto parts store should have a test kit or drop by your local mechanic and have them test it.
Have you...
