Re: 1929 Phaeton

I was loaned a right hand drive vehicle with standard transmission and found once you sit on the right side everything becomes second nature. Don't let RHD stand in your way.
This car will put...

Re: Used stock interiors… yeah.

This idea is used in museums. An example is the C. P. Huntington 4-2-4T locomotive in the California railway museum. It was last restored to appear as it did in 1915 at the San Francisco...

Re: 1931 Tudor Phaeton

I Know of one Canadian built car now in Ontario, around Niagara area. I can't recall seeing another one in Canada and originally thought it was a modification of a four door Phaeton.

It has the...

Re: Clutch Plate Bolt question

Now that you have it apart, I would agree to put Helicoil inserts in all the holes. Make sure to drill all to the same depth with the matching Helicoil drill before threading with the Helicoil tap.

Ford did make steel that would do the job. Many Ford drawings had marked on them "Material with qualities required to manufacture part"( not the exact wording but the basic meaning) including Fan...

Re: Straightening up a couple of Model A's (Advice needed)

Jyrome,

CA designations were from the start of Canadian Model "A" production, February 1st, 1928, until August 31st, 1929. Following the CA series numbers, a three letter designation was used with...

Re: Value of an Un-Restored Model A Engine

Original Model "A" part numbers are declining with time, making the parts still available more valuable.

A man had an original fan belt stashed away. When he died his stash goes into the garbage...

Re: OT: What type wood between frame rails and truck box?

White Oaks finer grain is made up of small elongated football shapes that wouldn't accept liquid. Red Oak grain is like a pile of straws running the length of the wood which allows it to suck up lots...

Re: Straightening up a couple of Model A's (Advice needed)

Hello Jyrome.

Nice to welcome another Model "A" man!

I would agree the front car is a 1930 Standard Fordoor Murray. There aren't signs of any holes for cowl lights that could indicate a Town...

Re: Ford car Ford gas

Good eyes! I'm glad I didn't fork out the $4.95, you just saved me $4.50 for a set of five.

Robertson screws mounting the windshield stanchions, another giveaway.

Re: Favorite "A" Body Style

My 165-C is mostly wood and that's what I like about it. Too bad it isn't visible!

A sign in a wooden boat builders shop read; "If God wanted fiberglass boats, he would have made fiberglass...

Re: Favorite "A" Body Style

Ageed, I love the Sport Roadster to look at as I mentioned above. My car of choice to actually drive is my 1930, 165-C Standard Sedan.

I would assume if you threaded it, that the center was not hard, only the surface was 60RC.
I often use a carbide tipped masonry drill for hardened...
