1923 door hinge

What is the reasoning for the right door hinge to stick out more on the bottom than on the top of the door yet in 1925 they stick out the same distance?? Thanks Butch

Why is most of them sticking out more on the bottom. I know the hinges are trianguler but for what purpose?? Thanks

why were the 't' door hinges tapered in the first place. Narrow at top and wider at bottom.??
