Re: timing adjustment on exterior of distributor

The three bolt helmet type distributors, up is advance. The later two bolt ones (42-48) are opposite. Keep in mind the breaker plate is not precision machined and many times adjusting timing changes...

Re: 47 V8 ignition mystery

If you want the correct brown wires they all from all vendors come from the same source. I recently installed a set on a 48 I feel your pain as it’s not all that easy but even though the surface...

Re: My First Flathead! 35 Standard

Re: 47 V8 ignition mystery

The breaker plate terminals can give issues. We have to check them thoroughly during every rebuild. That usually only causes a random miss. You declined the recommendation of a full rebuild on your...

Re: Anyone know if a NOS remanufactured distributor is a bolt on

Others have guided you well, on old Reman distributors the weights always need diassembled, cam and shaft polished and cleaned due to the old dired up grease.

Re: What is this goop? Restored 1932 Victoria

In my opinion some of the hetland cars sold to those whom assumed a profit could be made. Remarkable cars but they haven’t kept up with inflation over the years. In my opinion only two cars at that...

Re: Early build Model 18, now with more info!

If the serial number is 18-and then six digits it is not a Early car. Very nice car however. 18-124 is the Lowest serial number I have ever seen.

Re: 47 V8 ignition mystery
