Re: 1941 1/2 ton pickup
Is the truck originally a V8 or 6 cylinder? My understanding is the 6 cylinder used a narrower radiator than the V8 and may not be reproduced except as a custom build.
Griffin is also a good...

Re: 38 Ford 1/2 ton bumper help
OOPS. More research which only makes for more questions. The rear bumper for the pickup in the Jan 1939 Book shows a part number of 74-17757 (74 should be a V8-60 number), the car show 81-17757....

Re: Stupid question of the day. (maybe the year)
You guys answering are all really too serious, (and competent). The proper "silly" answer, or "silly" proper answer, is of course to simply roll the car over onto its top. Now the block/oil pan...

Re: 38 Ford 1/2 ton bumper help
Front bumper brackets: 1938 standard & deluxe & pickup, 1939 standard & pickup.
Bumpers same interchange, same front and rear. Rear brackets (pickup only) are the same 1938-41.

Re: 1932-1934 running boards
1933-34 Passenger steel boards with rubber covers are not available, last made by Drake ~5 years ago. Smooth fiberglass boards are still made.
1932 steel boards with rubber covers are shown by...

Update (life got in the way of this project). Back on track. Photo of the 3D printer doing its things on the dies (for the wax, for the foundry).

Re: 37 glovebox
If you find someone with the reproduction springs in stock, BUY THEM. The wholesale vendor (Vintique) has been out of stock for a couple of years.

While Brookville makes an increadible product consider purchasing the door inners separate from the outers, allowing for fine tuning of the fit and internal details before the outer panel is...

Re: Passenger Door Latch Mechanism
My understanding is that coupe/tudor latches 1937-39 are "the same", 1940 is different with internal "improvements" but is a direct interchange to 1937-39.

Re: defunct car dealers
1. The local (Gulfport) library. Old phone books, old business directories.
2. The Gulfport City Hall. Old tax records (expect to pay them to research that).
3. Newspaper archives. Look for...

Re: 1935 Humpback Trunk hinge
First issue, part nomenclature: Are you talking about the "LATCH" that mounts to the deck lid and engages the "STRIKER" that mounts to the body below the lid, or the "HINGE" that attaches to the body...

Re: 1934 Fordor roof
A couple questions.
I note in the second photo what appears to be a clip over the junction between the new and old tack strips... Am I correct, and is this stock? If stock was it also used 1932?...

Re: Door latch rebuild. Finding parts
1. You will have to find a donor part for the spacer, or make one. I suggest phosphor-bronze spring material, McMaster-Carr would be a source, also many hobby shops catering to the train and RC plane...

Re: Rubber stopper on window channel?
That is not, repeat NOT a stop. That is the bracket and stud to engage the slide vent action feature of the window. If you have the correct regulator there will be a curved slot which the stud moves...

Re: 32 Ford Female Dovetails.
Drake and Vintique male dovetails are essentially the same. Flimsy.
Are the male dovetails showing signs of wear or distortion? Are the female dovetails showing signs of wear or "falling apart"?...

There were several "4-hole" female dovetails used in the Model T and Model A years. Dimensions would be very nice!

Be really cautious about the ebay radiators. Speedway is cheap but at least they are "brand name". There are Taiwan and China knockoffs of really questionable quality. Major issues I have heard of...
