By disconnecting the top and bottom hoses and applying water pressure to the bottom radiator hose neck. The catch is you are fighting gravity, a baffle, etc. You can do the block at the same time...

My first thought is silicon. What you have is the the carrier preload to be concerned with. Keep the banjo gaskets in order and try silicon at the leak areas, which should show on the gaskets....

Whoa, you're finding to many things to guess at. Stop, put the Meineke muffler back on and see if this corrects your problem. If it does then leave it or put the glass pack on and rejet the carb....
