I have heard they did this during WWII. Good used 16" tires were easier to get because all rubber was going to the war effort.

Bill, what I like about the Mitchell Transmission, besides the second and third synchros, is that first and second are 15% higher, closing up the cavern between the stock second and third gear...

I find Champion 518s (W18s) perform as well if not better than...

nkaminar, I bought some of this grease at your suggestion. Great stuff. I use it on carburetor throttle shafts to help prevent leakage.

If you have to replace the shut off valve, ensure you get the new and improved one with a ball valve. Much better design..Snyder's has them....

The plug you link to from Snyder's states in the description "The original style. Can be used to fill and drain. This style of oil plug is 1/2" pipe thread."

Pipe thread is tapered thread.

Does your oil look foamy at all? Air in the oil will increase the level.

I was having an issue with 600W foaming in my transmission. I switched to Lucas 85w-150. Problem solved.

I have been using the "new" LED's for ~ 2 years now. Not exactly new... I especially like that they don't use the reflector because I use the original parking light with amber bulbs for my front turn...
