Am I correct, that the torque tube was part of the car for assist-rearend stability during this period?

My parent's '1950 did not have a torque tube. (?)

Was torque tube a Ford decision year...

I've done it on my '33 3w. As a matter of fact, it's out right now. The corrosive 'red' in the fuel gauge overflowed years ago = lotsa damage. See my past posts if interested.

33 Window crank and door handle pins (interior)

Are the door handle and window crank pins supposed to be too long to pass through the escucheons?

Original pins and reproduction pins are 5/8th" long, longer that the diameter of the escutcheon...

Yes, the paint 'held up' extraordinarily.(I once stripped a Model A with a Red Devil scraper; the paint chipped off as if it was an 'eggshell'. Gleaming metal. No 'evidence' of primer.

My curiosity . . . why wouldn't Ford use a primer, particularly on wheels which receive nature's vengeance directly off the road surface.

Tim - The new gauge will possibly be fastened to the underside of the dash, viewable on the driver's left - somewhat concealed and a comfortable glance to the gauge.

Replace '33 fuel sender with a '36, '37, '38 electric sender and gauge.
( '36, '37, '38 fuel sender machine screw holes should 'line up' with the '33 tank top holes.(?)

I intend to keep the '33...

I am posting this to inform you '33-'35 owners that this is the result if one spills the 'red' when filling the gauge(research how to fill the gauge). Beware of the 'red' Do not sniff it!...
