It may be a part you'll have to have a machine shop make up for you. Not a big problem. Tinbasher

Try going to the EV8 board and do a search for "Bubba", he may be able to help you.

There is a bearing and seal store about 5 miles from me. Give them the ID, OD, and length and they might have it on hand. Cutter Sales 763-425-8696, Paul is the owner.

BTW, there are a few good hardware stores that still have trays of bushings.

Re: Mallory distributor shaft bushing

I use mostly off the shelf oilite bearings. Most of the shaft problems I have found were caused by lack of lubrication, In the recent past I have found most frozen shafts to be caused by not drilling the oil passage in the upper shaft bushing. I have found this both on Mallory's and model B distributors. On the Mallory's I remove the outer plug then after drilling the oil hole in the bushing I drill and tap for Allen set screw to plug. On the B's I grip the oiler in the vise and then carefully tap on the distributor body with a piece of lead to remove the oiler then after drilling the bushing I drive in a new oiler being careful to align oil hole in the oiler up. I have predrilled the bushings in the past but find the drilling after installation easier on old eyes

Here's a link to removing the oiler. Scroll down to #5 andwhile gripping the screwdriver handle give it a good clockwise twist and the oiler should pop out with no damage. If it's to tight to twist the screwdriver, then use the screwdriver in the same position as a lever, and lift a little to get the oiler moving.
