More brake bleeding Question>>>
 

From time to time when bleeding brakes there is a stubborn bleeder that does not want to come out.
Let's hear some of you tried & true methods for getting them out with out braking the bleeder off.
I will post my way after you. [ inother words you show me yours & I will show you mine ] your's may be better.

Try a 3/8" breaker bar with the right size socket. With the breaker bar you can move it in both directions- back and forth. Of coarse lots of penetrating oil. If it brakes off, you needed a new wheel cylinder any way. Good luck Bill, see down in Hershey.

I've taken a small torch and heated the bleeder screw, the rubbers are a long way from the bleeder and I've never hurt them. Walt

I use a squirt bottle filled with water, heat the bleeder with a torch to a dull red this will heat up the wheel cylinder then direct the spray on the bleeder; the cold water will cause the bleeder to shrink, immediately brake them free with a six point wrench or socket, and they will turn out easily. The heat will also expand the fluid in the wheel cylinder and sometimes blow a brake line if they are marginal.

If you get the bleeder out put anti-sieze on it when you put it back in so it will not siesze up again.

OK Guys
I am not having a problem but I am sure that there are others that are & I was interested in knowing if my heat with a torch all though I go a little more then dull red
and use a water soaked rag to cool down Quickly.was used by others.
That snti-sieze is a very good idea.
